Kids say (and write) the funniest things. Check out these funny notes from children. The ones below made me laugh out loud!

Also, I think Emma is a pretty smart six-year-old.

Are you a hummer? I hum all the time – especially when I’m alone, focusing on a task or when I’m out in public, living electrically in my own head. At times, I could hum for several minutes and not even notice that I’m doing it (as an old roommate brought to my attention –  I think it drove her crazy). The strange part is, I unconsciously hum the most ridiculous song and it’s been going on for as long as I can remember!

A couple of weeks ago, I was at the grocery store perusing the vegetable and fruit section –  humming the Indiana Jones theme song – when I heard someone else join in! I immediately snapped out of my Indy trance, looked to my right and saw the most attractive man smiling and humming. I burst into a nervous cackle and then proceeded to turn bright red! My words completely failed me and all I could do was quickly bag the kale I held in my shaking hands and speed walk to the cashier, where of course, I stood in the worlds longest lineup with a face as bright as a tomato.

text from a dad

Today was a rough one, but this helped to cheer me up. It reminds me of something my crazy father would do.

cat and young girl jumping on bedGot a new kitty! I forgot how much work they are. Will be back to blogging soon.

I know Oz has only been gone for a week and a bit, but I really miss having a little creature running around my home. There is this palpable emptiness that lingers now. Everyday when I come home from work, I quietly (so my neighbours won’t think I’m cray-cray) find myself calling out, “Hey Monk, I’m home!” — almost like knee-jerk reaction.

So, I’ve been surfing Toronto Cat Rescue’s website and I think I might have found, “The One”.

I love how they introduce all the cats with, “Meow! My name is” —  isn’t that just the cutest?

Tell me your thoughts! Should I adopt this little guy? I’m not going to lie, that persuasive line about how, “Noah was born to LOVE! Out of all his siblings he is the biggest ham”, really pulled on my heart strings.

I’ve been purposely trying to do things that put a smile on my face: listen to good music, gorge on tasty cheese and olives, read funny books and blogs and let me tell you, nothing is funnier than Riley the dog! JUST look at him! HA HA HA. I squealed with laughter when I saw this picture for the first time. Look at his face! Doesn’t he look like a little human?!? And those eyes! I love how patient he is; he’s so polite waiting to eat his cake.
